Gays don't equal Pedophiles

So, as you may know, the boy scouts now allow gays. So at church Wednesday night during small group our pastors (a husband and wife) were talking about their boys wanting to be in boy scouts. They proceed to say they didn't know how to tell him it was because gays being allowed. They then said that it was protect their sons. Because they wouldn't be safe in a tent at night with a gay man. So now let me tare into this. First off, gays are pedophiles. Your son is perfectly safe with a gay man. When my son gets to the age were he wants to be in the boy scouts I will most definitely allow him to be whether the leader is gay or straight. I hate that so many Christians trying and make gays into pedophiles. Homosexuality is completely different from pedophilia. Pedophiles are sexually and relationship wise attracted to children. Homosexuals are sexually and relationship wise attracted to the same sex. Two completely different sexualities. Sadly when the conversation happened I was unable to say anything, though I wanted to. These people are simply not letting their children join because of the boy scout's new "morals". And that's what they should tell their children. Because in reality they are not protecting them from anything but people who believe differently from them. Well that is the end of my little rant. Tell me what you think on the subject. Would you allow your son to join. Why or why not.
